Michael Sletto Feb. 13, 2012 at the Sanford officiating. Visitation will be Bagley Medical Center in one hour prior to the service. Donald Fredenburg and lived on the family farm all his life. His grandfather pioneered the farm in the late 1800's. He lived in the house that his father and grandfather built in 1906. He starting helping on the farm raising corn, grain, dairy cows and then beef cattle, with the help of his father, who died in 1992. He played briefly in a dance band called the "Hot Licks" in the earlier years. He married Janet Daugherty on June 6, 1970. After his marriage he did direct selling for 13 years with the Shaklee Corp., Argenion Water Filters, the Bretney Corp. and NuWalters Co., along with the farming operation. He was a Jones Township Supervisor from 1971 to 1980. Donald played the violin and accordion (old time music) at four different nursing homes. He loved to visit with the residents. He occasionally played at "Pony Lake" on Tuesday nights and at Itasca Pioneer Music nights. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, dancing, watching wrestling on television, telling jokes and visiting with his friends and family. He never met a stranger, and was liked by everyone that knew him. He was a life member of the National Rifle Assn. and the North American Hunting Club. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Janet of Solway; daughter, Janell (Dennis Newland Jr.) Fredenburg of Berrtidji; a granddaughter; along with nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother, Lyle, and sister, Loise Johnson. Arrangements were entrusted to the Olson- Schwartz Funeral Home, Bemidji. Online guest book at www. olsonschwartzfuneralhome. com. Donald Earl Fredenburg, 82, of rural Solway, died Feb. 9, 2012 at Sanford Bemidji Medical Center, Bemidji, from complications of a stroke. His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 15, at the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home, Bemidji, with Pastor Kent Dudley officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Moose Creek Cemetery, rural Shevlin. He was the son of Earl and Gertrude (Pitsenburger) Fredenburg. He grew up Arthur Bestul 1914-2012 Bagley. Art was born in Shevlin,Nov. 5, 1914 to parents Isaac and Barbara "Bella" (Westberg) Bestul. He married Marian Elaine Christlieb July 18, 1942 at Shevlin. Art served in the US Army from 1942 to 1945 when he was honorably discharged as a disabled veteran. He spent his working years doing miscellaneous jobs throughout northern Minn. Art and Elaine moved to southern Florida in 1968 where they raised birds and enjoyed the sunshine and warm weather. Art returned to Minnesota 12 years ago upon the death of his wife Elaine and resided in assisted living in Wyoming, Minn. until his health failed and he entered long term care. He is survived by his son, Jack Bestul (LaVayne) of Shafer, Minn.; daughter, Marrianne Schwengler of Minneapolis; son, Dale Bestul of Texas; brother, Ernest Bestul (Iva) of Bagley; grandchildren, great- grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Susan (Randy) Sims. As a homemaker she enjoyed caring for her family. She found time for crafting, Marcia Jean Kern died Feb. 5, 2012, at the age of 56, at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, following a brief battle with cancer. The snowmobile was awarded by Christian Brothers Racing of Fertile, Minn. Tiffany, age 8, is the daughter of John and Sheri Gerbracht of Bagley.
